Lucky's Tale (2016)

Image
Lucky's Tale 7.8/10 This game is an amazing VR platform game, unjustly underrated. The game has a simple, good story, charismatic designs, and catchy music, but the gameplay does not offer a lot of new stuff; the VR camera is clunky and imprecise. Nevertheless, it is a solid VR game that feels like Mario in VR. Developed by:  playful STUDIOS

Super Mario Galaxy (2007)

Image
Super Mario Galaxy 8.5/10 This game is an amazing platformer; it has a few hiccups, but overall it's one of the best 3D platformers of all time. It is also imperative to mention that I experienced this masterpiece not on its original system, the Wii, nor on the remaster for the Switch, but as a native port for the Quest 3 (GalaxyQuest),  where I firmly believe it is the ultimate version of the game so far. Adding stereoscopic 3D to any platformer is an undeniable plus; it makes depth and manoeuvres way easier and more engaging. Not only that, but it fits the scale of the planets and their depth as spheres. There is an immersive mode which is certainly a bonus, but I stuck to the original big-screen approach since the game was designed for that perspective, and applying it immersively changes too much of the gameplay. The game as well is running at a higher resolution and framerate and conserves the Wii motion features that the Quest controllers do flawlessly; indeed, this is...

The Binding of Isaac (2014)

Image
The Binding of Isaac 8.4/10 This game is so creative and smart in its gameplay, sound design, music, and narrative. The game is amazing at everything, but completing the game and all its original endings felt more like a chore than fun; I was done with the game long before I finished it. Developed by:  Nicalis

DmC: Devil May Cry (2013)

Image
DmC: Devil May Cry 5.5/10 This reboot is something rare: not excellent but certainly overhated. The story is plagued with basic flat stereotypes, cutscenes are poorly implemented, and secret missions are a chore, but overall it is an entertaining game with good mechanics Developed by: Ninja Theory

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (2017)

Image
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice 9.5/10 No game has ever made me feel like Hellblade since Bioshock Infinite, and it even surpasses it. This game proves, doubtless, that video games are art, and I must say how great the performance of Melina J uergens is Developed by:  Ninja Theory

Dishonored (2012)

Image
Dishonored 9.6/10 This is one of the most visually beautiful games ever made. Despite not having reached graphical fidelity and some environments falling short due to technical limitations, this, alongside its story, narrative, and storytelling mechanisms, and well-crafted worldbuilding, made this a masterpiece from all aspects of it. Gameplay is implemented harmoniously with all other elements, where one complements the other and no element is bluntly separated from the others, Developed by:  Arkane Studios

Daedalus (2017)

Image
Daedalus 7.1/10 This game is more of an experience, laidback, relaxing, and if you are into that, this game is perfect. Vertical Robot crafted some amazing landscapes taking advantage of all of VR from massiveness, perspective, colors, depth, and graphics from 2017 on a quest 3 look surreal, sure this game is a blast if you know where to look literally. Developed by: Vertical Robot

Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow (2025)

Image
Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow 7.3/10 This stealth game is what a small game should be; nothing is stretched out, gameplay is just right, visuals are accurate, but as a whole, it lacks real storytelling agency, the plot is lackluster and generic with flat characters, and the narrative is juvenile and lacks depth. Developed by:  Maze Theory

Red Matter 2 (2022)

Image
Red Matter 2 8.3/10 This game may be a little tiring, and the puzzles are not as polished as they could be, nor as intuitive, but sure is a technical marvel and a huge example of VR as a seroius medium. Developed by:  Vertical Robot

Hollow Knight: Silksong (2025)

Image
Hollow Knight: Silksong 9.6/10 The Sequel held up to the expectations. The game is fresh yet familiar, it tries new things and gets creative like an artist should do without the worries of investors or a publisher, The Game is more difficult but it makes you feel more dexterous , some fights that do double damage feel cheap, the exploration is toounforgiving since you have to be almost paranoic to find essencial regions of the game or hidden items, the lore is aliitle clearer than the prevous game but still criptid and burried which is not bad. Developed by:  Team Cherry

Hades (2020)

Image
Hades 9.4/10 This game is a masterpiece. Being an indie game, of course, it will not have all the best features due to constraints; however, its narrative, storytelling, and gameplay implementation excel. This game defines what a good game should do when fusing narrative and gameplay, and not having them as two seprate artistic features. Developed by:   Supergiant Games

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War (2017)

Image
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War 8.4/10 This game is amazing and is carried by its nemesis and army mechanics. The game is average in combat but generic. The music feels just right, but not potent. The story is interesting at best, but mostly disconnected and a drag, with awful cinematics. Developed by:  Monolith Productions

Super Mario 3D Land (2011)

Image
Super Mario 3D Land 8.7/10 Mario 3D experimental platformer that made use of 3D in an authentic way. The levels are ridiculously easy and lack challenge but the overall experience is a great and fun ride. Created by:  Nintendo

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom (2023)

Image
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom 9.5/10 The sequels improve everything done in the previous but also repeat some mistakes, amplify the issues planted in the original, and worsen the storytelling. This game has no respect for all the lore in previous games and wants to cut links with the past games setting it in a far future where origin stories overlap and are incongruent just let's see that the writers really just needed a new IP since they ignore all the worldbuilding, create origin stories disrespecting the already established and does it while gaslights everyone into thinking this is an organic sequel.  The storytelling is worse than the previous and the plot lacks punch and drama, BOW had a link trying to remember his past and traveling to discover those memoirs it shows a cutscene that was justified while this game just repeats it with less logic and tells a less compelling and more generic story. The game is its physics and mechanics, it lacks in a lot of thi...

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild (2017)

Image
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 9.8/10 The new step forward to the series is where it becomes, and it dares to challenge the already established setting as a new stepstone for future Games. This game is almost perfect but for some variety in Enemies, insufficient voiced NPCs, and too much useful grinding in the form of collectibles. Created by:  Hidemaro Fujibayashi

LamdaVR (2019)

Image
LamdaVR 6.7/10 This mod is genuinely creative but falls behind its ambitions, the Game Half-Life might be a good candidate for being in a VR environment but the rest, not so much, from bugs to mechanics and nauseating levels, maybe a more refined version with tons of work and adaptation like Half-Life 2 VR was is necessary or better, a VR version of the Remake of the Decade Black Mesa (2020) Developed by:  Team Beef

Tetris: Effect Connected for Quest (2020)

Image
Tetris: Effect Connected 8.4/10 This is the best way to experience Tetris or at least the most beautiful, meaningful, and touching version I have tried. The music, the rythm and visual combined with gameplay deliver an out-of-this-world experience that can barely be described with words like most VR experiences. Developed by:  Resonair

Red Matter (2018)

Image
Red Matter 7.7/10 This game is an interactive experience that adds puzzles to the equation and there is nothing wrong with that, it is an experience that delivers and does with increadiable visuals that were a coding marvel in 2018. Developed by:  Vertical Robot

Super Mario 64 (1997)

Image
Super Mario 64 9.7/10 Mario's transition to the 3D world built the first pillars of the player's view, platforming and sound design. Created by:  Nintendo

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (1995)

Image
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island  8.9/10 This being more a spin-off than a sequel still is a fun game that tries new things.  Created by:  Nintendo
